Representatives of “Ukratominstruments” Corporation took part in the first regional conference of the Black Sea Women in Nuclear (BSWN)

On 5-6 November 2024, representatives of the “Ukratominstruments” Corporation attended the first regional conference of the Black Sea Women in Nuclear Network (BSWN), held at the Ovid University in Constanta, Romania. The conference, dedicated to the topic “Empowering Women in Nuclear – We Can All Do It!”, brought together women leaders, experts and young professionals from different countries of the region to discuss the role of women in nuclear energy and opportunities for their development in this field.

During the conference, the participants had the opportunity to listen to presentations by leading Ukrainian experts, including:

  • Nataliia Klos, President of BSWN (Ukraine), who opened the conference and emphasised the importance of supporting women in the nuclear industry.
  • Nataliia Sorokova, representative of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, who made a presentation on the development directions of the Institute of Nuclear and Thermal Energy.
  • Tetiana Kotelina, representative of Energoatom, who spoke about the company’s needs for qualified personnel and cooperation with higher education institutions in training specialists.
  • Khrystyna Lylak, representative of the Ukrainian Nuclear Society.
  • Viktoriia Skoropadska, BSWN Mentee, Ukraine.
  • Tetiana Zakrevska, representative of the Ukrainian Nuclear Society, who shared her experience on new projects in the Ukrainian nuclear energy sector and the role of women in their implementation.
  • Valeriia Gergiieva, Leader of the BSWN Initiatives Black Sea Experts NucTalks from Ukraine.
  • Iryna Maksymenko from the Odesa Centre for Nonprofileration.

The participation of “Ukratominstruments” in this event emphasises the importance of supporting gender equality and involving women in key processes in the nuclear industry, which is in line with current global trends in energy development. The conference was an excellent platform for sharing experience and discussing ways to empower women in science and technology.
